Myron and Ellen Kloubec started an aquaculture business in Amana, Iowa, over thirty years ago, initially focusing on game fish. A decade later, influenced by their son Nick's passion for koi, they began dedicating more of their farm to koi production, eventually prioritizing koi over game fish.
Trichodina is a microscopric parasite that causes scratching and flashing in Koi. When Trichodina breaks the skin surface bacteria such as Aeromones and Pseudomones may enter, then sore and ulcers may develop.
